Sofia Ferreira Enriquez joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2020 and became a Partner in 2021. She co-coordinates the Litigation and Arbitration Area of Practice and heads the Insurance and the Transportation Law Departments.

With more than 20 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, she has focused her practice in civil and commercial litigation, both national and international, before judicial and arbitral courts and arbitration centres. In her litigation practice, she has been representing successfully leading companies in the national and international markets, in several sectors of activity.

As head of the Insurance and the Transportation Law Departments, she represents several companies acting in these sectors, with special focus in shipping, both in new projects, contracts, and negotiation, as well as in lawsuits, misdemeanour litigation, and arbitration, or in regulatory matters.

In this area of practice, she has contributed with proposals for legislative procedures organized by the World Bank.

Sofia has a master’s degree in Legal Sciences – Maritime Law from the Lisbon University Law School, where she taught different matters for nine years and where she still teaches, occasionally, in Post-Graduation Courses.
