Marta Afonso Pereira joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2025 as Partner and Head of the Employment, Benefits and Pensions Department.

With more than 20 years' experience, Marta advises Portuguese and international companies on labour and social security law issues, namely social benefits (pension schemes and stock option plans), collective bargaining, company restructuring, post-restructuring and staff transfers, disciplinary procedures and executive recruitment and dismissal, as well as labour litigation.

She advises companies in various sectors of activity, including banking, insurance, investment funds, professional services and consultancy, health, pharmaceuticals, transport and automobiles.

She regularly participates as a speaker at conferences on labour law issues.
