Dirce Rente joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2023 as a Partner. Dirce coordinates the Department of Criminal, Regulatory and Compliance Law.

With over 16 years of experience, with a special focus on economic and cross-border criminality, Dirce has been listed and recommended as reference by the most prestigious and international directories and publications.

In the field of criminal law, she has represented clients in the largest and most complex criminal cases investigated and tried in Portugal, especially in white-collar crime.

She also has accumulated experience in regulatory law and advising national and international companies, having handled most important administrative offence cases in Portugal, particularly in the areas of financial law, capital markets, competition law and aviation law.

In the area of compliance, Dirce advises national and international companies on the prevention of corruption, money laundering, terrorist financing and international sanctions - including M&A diligence, preparation and implementation of internal policies and whistleblowing channels and support to compliance officers.
